(Optional) It helps expedite the application review if you have a verified TechSoup account, but it is not required.
Sign in with your Google account here: https://www.google.com/nonprofits/account/orgs
Click New Request
Fill out each page of the form and upload the Letter of Exemption from the IRS when prompted. If you already have a verified TechSoup account, you can link it during this application process.
After completing all the steps in the application, you'll have to wait to get approved. It can take anywhere from 1 day to 14 days for Google to review applications. If you're not approved, you may need to provide additional documentation.
You can always check the status of your nonprofit application in the Google Nonprofit Portal.
You cannot convert directly from Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, and Enterprise plans. You must downgrade all users to the Starter or trial plan to upgrade to the nonprofit licensing.
After you've confirmed that you've been verified via google.com/nonprofits (instructions above), submit the following form to complete the licensing conversion: https://support.google.com/nonprofits/contact/contact_us
Fill out all the fields, and in the issue or question field, type:
Please convert all our licenses to Google for Nonprofit. We are already approved via the Nonprofit portal. Please let me know if you need any more information.
Now that your org has been approved, you can log in and start configuring your basic settings to ensure your users are secure and have access to the needed features.
