Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your Google Workspace account. Using a hardware security key, such as a YubiKey key, provides a strong form of authentication that is phishing-resistant and highly secure. This guide walks you through the process of setting up a hardware security key for your Google Workspace account.

Sign in to your Google Workspace account.
Click your avatar (profile picture) in the top right corner, then select "Manage your Google Account."
In the left-hand menu, click "Security."
Under the "How you sign in to Google" section, find "2-Step Verification" and click "Get started."
If prompted, enter your password to continue.
Scroll down and click "Passkeys and security keys."
Click "+ Use a security key."
Select "USB or NFC" and click "Next."
Insert your hardware security key into a USB port on your device.
When prompted, touch the button on your security key.
Follow any additional on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Once registered, your security key will be listed as an authentication method.
You can now use it for multi-factor authentication (MFA) when signing into your Google Workspace account.
